There are many banner materials to choose from, so before you place your order, get educated about what is available and why you'd choose one over another!
STANDARD 13 OZ BANNER
This is the most common weight of banner and generally considered all-purpose. It is available is GLOSS or MATTE finish, so if you are looking for one or the other, be sure to ask for it! This weight of banner can be both DIGITALLY PRINTED or used with traditional CUT VINYL LETTERING. You'll find it is often hemmed and grommeted and will last for a long time if installed properly and in an appropriate place. Not good for extremely long-term use or for very windy placements. When installed outdoors long term, it should be attached every 18 inches by the grommets -- the more securely it is attached to a wall or fence, the better. It will NOT endure any stress if stretched across an opening, attached at either end. This banner will tear or shred easily in those circumstances.
HEAVY WEIGHT BANNER
There are several heavier weights of banners, so if you are looking for something super-strong, this is the stuff. Be sure to ask about warranty and installation instructions to ensure you don't put even this banner stock in jeopardy!
BLOCK OUT BANNER
If you are looking for something to completely block out light or be opaque so images to project through to the opposite site, this is the stock for you. Certainly more expensive than standard weight banners, but it is worth the additional expense if you really need something heavy and opaque.
MESH BANNER
This is a relative newcomer to the banner world -- it is a mesh fabric made of nylon or vinyl. The mesh gives it some unique applications! For big building or long fence installations, it's perfect. The wind cannot "catch it" as easily as standard banner, allowing it to be used in windy or open spaces. It also is semi-transparent, which is an interesting effect if you are looking for it. It also can cover windows without obliterating the view, so there may be a good use for that. Keep in mind that mesh banner won't offer the same "pop" of color that standard banner does, and dirt and grim traps in the mesh over time, giving the banners a duller appearance. Great for construction sites where you want to block the view of the site but at the same time spread the message about the upcoming construction project.
FABRIC BANNER
For those more sophisticated messages, fabric may do the trick! If you want something that is softer in appearance, glossy, silky or cottony to the touch, this is for you. This can be printed on with four-color process, and then sewn, glued and treated like any other fabric. Designers like fabric banners for unusual installations -- they can move gently or be draped over and around an interior space. Some like them for indoor banners as commemorations or awards. We've also stretched fabric like cotton over a wooden frame, like a painter's canvas.
RETRACTABLE BANNER
These banners are portable and easy to display with a few small movements and assembly steps. We sell these to those who have organizations that meet in different locations, tradeshow attendees who want to display their brand, or even event coordinators who want an inexpensive, reusable backdrop for a stage set up. These banners come in all kinds of sizes and finishes, so discuss with your sign company what you are looking for.
ADHESIVE BANNERS
We now offer a new adhesive material banner that will allow you to print and hang a banner on a painted or wall paper wall without fear of damage and with no need for special hardware. This new "re-positional" vinyl gives you the ultimate in flexibility to display your banner, take it down and place it back on its storage paper, roll it up and use it again elsewhere.
